This guy has managed to avoid getting five Fail marks in any one gauge, but he has been through the grinder and is, from the perspective of ordinary folks living the American Dream, something of a suspect sausage. He cannot function in normal society or, perhaps, just doesn’t. He’s seen too much to believe in an office job, a suburban patio, church on Sunday and 2.5 kids.
What fires left this ash of a man? Up to the GM to decide, if it even matters. Could be war, drugs, bad love stuff, supernatural curses or all of the above. But he sees a little something familiar in the PCs, so he’s less dismissive of them than he is of everyone else. It’s up to them to decide how they feel about that.
