Server

Day or night, if you walk into a business you’re going to meet someone whose job is or includes “interfacing with random walk-ins.” If you’re in a restaurant, he’s the waiter. If you’re buying shoes, he’s measuring your feet. If you’re asking about nailguns, he’s the one explaining the powder charge.

He’s trying to keep things professional, get his job done frictionlessly, be sufficiently friendly that you don’t complain to his manager without being so over-friendly that you complain to his manager. If he witnesses something, he won’t pay attention, probably won’t remember, and won’t want to talk about it even if you wave money in his face. He is an atypical UA character in that he is extremely trouble-averse.
