Cult Survivor

Being in a cult is one thing, coming out the other side gives you a whole different perspective and resolve. A character with this identity may have a very opposite obsession that helps them suppress this part of their story, or that channels the experience and routine they had from their cult days into an exceptional discipline.

A character with this identity isn’t just a cult survivor – they survived a specific cult that had its own norms, rules and objectives.  As well as the Of course I can skills described below, they’ll have some domain specific talents too.

For example, an Agrimancer cult survivor may not have graduated to use magick by the time they escape, but they will be able to recognise signs of magick that the uninitiated would otherwise dismiss. They’d also have some mundane skills, such as driving farm vehicles, domesticating animals, sharpening blades and growing crops.

A Cult Survivor is almost certain to have a higher degree of hardening in their Isolation, Helplessness and Self shock meters. If they came from a magick cult, this will also likely be reflected in their Unnatural shock meter.

I’m a Cult Survivor, of course I can feign compliance, tell us both what needs to be heard, see the real power dynamic, suffer discipline, keep a routine, find a way out.
